Today while sitting in Sacrament Meeting and pondering the promises and blessings that the Lord has (and has not) given me, I had an interesting realization. It appears that there may be _________ levels appertaining to our personal choice to come unto Christ.

• We may choose to come unto Him for fear of negative consequences if we do not
• We may desire to come unto Him because we believe He will grant us temporal blessings now
• We may come unto Him now because we have hope in Him for heavenly blessings later
• We may turn to Him, not out of an expectation for blessings, but because we love Him, choose to serve Him, and want to become like Him

What does it take to arrive in that last space? That’s where I most want to be. Right now I feel like I’m in group 1 or 2, and that group 3 only rarely comes to mind. Yet I think group 4 is the group where I will find the most joy.
